With many movies releasing on Netflix this weekend, what grabbed our attention was the Diljit Dosanjh-Parineeti Chopra starrer Amar Singh Chamkila. The biopic shares a rather emotional yet inspirational narrative of Punjab`s first ever rockstar.
The Imtiaz Ali directorial explores emotions in a way that will connect with you instantly. After what felt like a detour for the filmmaker after delivering back-to-back flops like Love Aaj Kal 2 and web series like She Season 2 and Dr. Arora, it seems Amar Singh Chamkila is Ali`s redemption project.
As soon as the trailer for Chamkila was revealed, fans were waiting with baited breath for more than one reason. What made us even more excited was the reunion of musical magicians Imtiaz Ali, AR Rahman, Mohit Chauhan, and Irshad Kamil.
