Mohit Suri reveals the real reason for casting Aneet Padda in Saiyaara
Saiyaara has become a massive Bollywood blockbuster with a love story that`s reigning at the box office. Ahana Panday and Aneet Padda`s sizzling chemistry takes the cake, while the storyline keeps you hooked till the end.
After Aashiqui 2, Mohit Suri strikes back with yet another intense Bollywood-esque love story, but this time with newcomers. In a recent interview, the filmmaker revealed the real reason for casting Padda.
It was Aditya Chopra who introduced Suri to Ahaan. The moment he dropped his guards, Mohit knew he`d found his Krish Kapoor. But when asked what convinced him about Aneet`s casting, the actual reason will shock you.

Opening up on the same, the filmmaker said, “I’m sorry if I don’t sound politically correct, but one thing that was very scary was that I wanted a 20–22-year-old girl who hadn’t done anything cosmetological to her face or body in today’s age. That was a big requirement. I wanted someone who felt real and hadn’t altered her body."
"Aneet had done some work before, and she was great at it. She was predominantly a great actor, especially for the part I required her to play. She came through all the slaughtering of auditions,” he added.
Suri also revealed that other actors who auditioned for Vaani Batra`s character were good but "too done up".

In the same interview, the Ek Villain director recalled how he broke the ice with the young actress and called his first meeting with Aneet "disastrous".

“It was a disastrous first meeting with her. She came into the office wearing a yellow costume, and Ahaan was there with me. I told her, ‘What the hell are you wearing?’ Someone had told her that’s how the character was," Suri shared.
He continued, "She must have got really scared, and when this generation gets scared, they get chatty. But Ahaan tried to take all the chattiness onto himself. Her tests, though, were damn good.”
Saiyaara continues to reign at the box office, coming close to collecting 150 crore worldwide. After five days, the film stands at 132.25 crore in India. The Ahaan Panday and Aneet Padda starrer is running successfully in cinemas near you.
