Know Your Star - Atif Aslam

Atif Aslam married his long-time girlfriend Sara Bharwana on 30th March 2013. The two were in a relationship for over 12 years and yet managed to keep it under wraps.

Atif Aslam is the youngest recipient of one of Pakistans highest civilian honours, the Tamgha-e-Imtiaz.

He has also sung two songs for Mira Nairs film The Reluctant Fundamentalist.

In April 2012, Atif Aslam became the first man from Pakistan to perform in Londons O2 Arena.

In 2012, Atif Aslam was named amongst the top performers of Dubai alongside Pitbull, Enrique Iglesias, Il Divo, Gotye, Evanescence and Swedish House Mafia.

Before the rights of his Aadat were acquired by the Bhatt camp for their film Kalyug, Atif released the single in Pakistan through much difficulty. He did odd jobs at gas stations as he did not have the funds to record his hit single.

It was while pursuing computer engineering did Atif meet composer and guitarist Goher Mumtaz, with whom he formed his band, Jal. The band eventually split owing to differences between Atif and Goher over management issues.

If not a singer, Atif wanted to become a cricketer and play for his country. Infact, he was selected as a pace bowler for the U-19 Pakistani cricket team.

Though his parents wanted him to become a doctor, Atif chose to pursue computer engineering.
