Sikandar Advanced Booking
When it comes to Bollywood biggies, few stars create the kind of buzz that Salman Khan does. And his upcoming release, Sikandar, is proving exactly why he`s still the ultimate crowd-puller. As the film gears up for its grand release this Eid on March 30, the excitement has already hit a fever pitch. Advance bookings that opened on Tuesday, March 25, have not only set the cash registers ringing but have also sent ticket prices soaring like never before.
Booking platforms like BookMyShow opened advance reservations across the country, and the response was immediate. In just the first 24 hours, the movie grossed just under 4 crore, selling an impressive 1,38,209 tickets for its opening day across 12,820 shows. And with two full days still left before release, spot bookings in smaller cities are expected to further boost collections.
The buzz isn’t just digital—it’s reflecting directly in ticket counters. In Mumbai, premium formats like Director’s Cut and Luxe screens are selling tickets for as much as 2,200. Even Plaza Cinema in Dadar, a single-screen theatre, is pricing its recliner seats at an uncharacteristically high 700 for evening shows. Such pricing is a first for many, leaving some industry insiders concerned whether sky-high rates might turn audiences away.
Delhi’s multiplexes aren’t far behind. Premium seats here are selling between Rs. 1,600 and 1,900, while normal multiplex seats in major cities have touched the Rs. 850 to Rs. 900 range. This has sparked debates—while some view it as a reflection of Salman`s unmatched stardom and the film`s massive pre-release buzz, others worry the prices may alienate average moviegoers.

Why Sikandar is the Talk of the Town
Adding to the hype is the film`s all-star cast. Sikandar marks the first-ever on-screen collaboration between Salman Khan and Rashmika Mandanna. In a recent press meet, Salman praised Rashmika’s dedication, sharing, "She (Rashmika) has given her best. She used to finish shooting of Pushpa 2 at 7 pm and would join us at 9 pm, and would work till 6.30 in the morning and go back to work on Pushpa 2. Then, after breaking her leg, she continued shooting with us, and didn`t cancel a single day of shoot. She reminds me a lot of younger me."The film also stars Kajal Aggarwal, Sharman Joshi, and Sathyaraj and is directed by AR Murugadoss, known for his expertise in delivering masala entertainers.
