1. Sher Shivaji (1987)

Sher Shivaji is a Marathi-language film based on Shivaji Maharaj's infamous encounter with Afzal Khan. The plot revolves around their meeting at Pratapgarh Fort, where Khan elusively tried to kill Maharaj but failed miserably.

The film's cast consists of some of the most talented names in the Marathi film industry, like Smita Patil, Shreeram Lagoo, and Ramesh Deo.

2. Farzand (2022)

This movie revolves around the story of general Kondaji Farzand, who helped Shivaji Maharaj capture the Panhala fort back from the Sultanate of Bijapur. The story takes us through the thrilling battle of Panhala, where only 60 Maratha warriors battled with more than 2,500 enemy soldiers.

Chinmay Mandlekar, Mrunal Kulkarni, and Ankit Mohan play pivotal roles in the movie. Farzand is available for streaming on Hotstar.

3. Pawankhind (2022)

Pawankhind is based on the events that unfolded at Ghodkhind in 1674. The plot takes us to the time when Siddi Jauhar laid siege to the Panhala fort. Shivaji Maharaj hatches a plan to escape, but the enemy gets a hint of it.

The following events capture the battle of Pawankhind, led by the brave warrior general Baji Prabhu Deshpande. The film is directed by Digpal Lanjekar and can be streamed on Amazon Prime.

4. Tanhaji (2020)

The movie stars a strong cast of Bollywood actors like Ajay Devgn, Kajol, Sharad Kelkar, and Saif Ali Khan. Tanhaji showcases the recapture of Kondhana Fort by Tanhaji Malusare, a brave warrior and commander of the Maratha army. The film's climax captures a thrilling action sequence between Tanhaji and Rajput general Udaybhan Rathod.

This Marathi film showcases the events of 1663, when Shaistakhan occupied Lal Mahal in Pune. The movie primarily revolves around the political tension between the Marathas and the Mughal general and how Shivaji Maharaj hatches a plan to get their fort back.

Fattehshikast also captures the famous event where Shaistakhan tries to flee through a window before getting his fingers cut by Shivaji Maharaj. Fattehshikast is available to watch on Zee5, starring Chinmay Mandlekar, Mrunal Kulkarni, and Anup Soni.
