Priyanka Chopra - Karan Johar Feud: Here`s What Happened Between The Actor And Filmmaker In 2012

Priyanka Chopra is hitting the headlines again after she opened up about how Bollywood cornered her and why she moved to Hollywood. In a recent podcast with Dax Shepherd, she spoke about colorism, Bollywood bullies, nepotism, and having `beef` with some people in the film industry that reignited controversies. Being candid about her take on why she thought of entering Hollywood, some of her statements ignited controversies about her and Karan Johar`s feud.

On the podcast, Priyanka Chopra said, “I was being pushed into a corner in the industry (Bollywood). I had people not casting me, I had beef with people, I am not good at playing that game so I kind of was tired of the politics and I said I needed a break."
Her Fashion co-star Kangana Ranaut was the first one to react on the same and accused Karan Johar of her exit from Bollywood. Taking it to Twitter, she wrote, “This is what @priyankachopra has to say about Bollywood, people ganged up on her, bullied her, and chased her out of film industry a self made woman was made to leave India. Everyone knows Karan Johar had banned her.”
It was around the time when Priyanka Chopra was making headlines for her alleged affair with Shah Rukh Khan. Since Karan Johar is best friends with SRK and his wife Gauri Khan, it is said that the filmmaker started to `push` and `corner` the actress out of the scene. Later, one of Priyanka`s close friends opened up with a leading tabloid about Karan`s treatment of the actress.

"At a recent party, while he (Karan) was feeding her cupcakes, she heard rumors of him b*tching her out-all this is very hurtful,” said PeeCee`s friend. It was also believed a powerful star`s wife was involved in pushing Priyanka from the film industry. “Priyanka has done nothing wrong. If these women are insecure about their relationships with their husbands, they should sort it out with them, at home. Why should they attack her?” the friend further added.
An upset Karan Johar took to Twitter and wrote, "Using their hired PR machinery and hiding behind so-called `friends` to get news into tabloids is nothing but spineless and lame. Some people need to wake up and smell the KOFFEE! Get a reality check before it`s too late! Grow up! and don`t mess with goodness."
However, soon after all the controversies, the filmmaker said in a statement that everything was fine between him and the Citadel actress. "Well, I can say that there is absolutely no problem between Priyanka and me. We have had an extremely good professional and personal experience over the years. I hope it continues that way."
As for Karan Johar, he will be making his directorial debut with Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani which stars Alia Bhatt and Ranveer Singh in the lead.
