Joining the likes of actor Rajpal Yadav, choreographer Remo D`Souza, and actor-singer Sugandha Mishra, Sharma received an alarming email purportedly originating from Pakistan. The sender demanded a response within eight hours, failing which dire consequences were promised. The same name and modus operandi were linked to earlier threats received by Rajpal Yadav and others.
An FIR has been filed under Section 351(3) of the BNS in Mumbai. Security measures have been stepped up for Kapil Sharma and his team, ensuring their safety. Mumbai Police are investigating the threats with urgency, and the Amboli Police have traced the email`s IP address to Pakistan. Authorities are collaborating with the government to pursue the matter across borders.
Actor Rajpal Yadav also received a similar email on December 14, 2024. His wife, Radha Rajpal Yadav, promptly filed a complaint on December 17. In a statement, Rajpal Yadav said, “I have filed a complaint with Amboli Police and cyber crime department. After that, I haven`t discussed it with anyone. I am an artist, and I want to entertain audiences with my performances. The agencies can update on these matters.”
