There is no bad blood between them but Ranbir and Ranveer are often pit against each other in terms of popularity. When Ranveer was relatively new, Ranbir was climbing up the ladder of success. However the equation has changed. Ranveer, today is the most sought after actor while Ranbir is in dire need of a hit.
One can easily say that Sonam made herself a rival of Deepika. There is no way a match can be held between the two in terms of acting or popularity, because Deepika would win, hands down. When the two actresses came together on Koffee with Karan, everyone thought that friendship was brewing. Both of them badmouthed Ranbir on national television but Deepika called truce when she teamed up with Ranbir for Yeh Jawaani Hai Deewani. This left Sonam sulking and since then, the battle lines have been drawn.
The two actresses were the best of friends once upon a time and would often hang around together when they were dating Shahid Kapoor and Harman Baweja respectively. They even worked together in Aitraaz opposite Akshay Kumar. However, Priyankas overnight popularity startled Kareena. What made it worse was when Priyanka started seeing Shahid after he broke up with Kareena.
Once childhood buddies, the two became the thickest rivals while entering the industry. While Hrithiks career managed to take off, Abhishek was struggling to break through. Even though they remained civil at formal dos, Hrithiks on-screen kiss with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in Dhoom 2 made matters worse and only widened the gap further.
Their rivalry can be dated to the Karan Arjun days when filmmaker Rakesh Roshan was considering SRK and Ajay for the same role. Since the role demanded that the character looks mean and beefy, Ajay requested SRK to drop the role. But SRK started shooting without Ajays knowledge and this sparked off bitterness between the two which lived on for a long time.
Their love-hate relationship could be fodder for a film in itself. Since more than two decades, film industry workings and inter-personal relationships have changed owing to these two. As much as we love seeing them together, we hope that they reunite for good. As their song goes, Yeh bandhan toh pyaar ka bandhan hai, janmon ka sangam hai.
