Soon after the Netflix anthology ‘Ajeeb Daastaans’ released earlier in April, netizens hailed one of the four short stories, namely filmmaker Neeraj Ghaywan’s short ‘Geeli Pucchi’ starring Konkona Sen Sharma and Aditi Rao Hydari in the lead.
A story about two women who hail from contrasting backgrounds, ‘Geeli Pucchi’ upends the caste-based narrative by also discussing sexuality, privilege and patriarchy.
Joining in the chorus in appreciation is Filmfare-Award winning actress Tillotama Shome of ‘Sir’ fame, who heaped praises upon the team in a tweet.
She wrote, “GeeliPucchi WOW! yes am terribly late. Congratulations @ghaywan for making this rich world. @konkonas @aditiraohydari what crackling chemistry-Not sure if I am jealous, intoxicated or both. Congratulations to the whole team @karanjohar @somenmishra0 for backing such stories.”
Tillotama was awarded the Best Actress Critics’ Choice for her faultless performance in ‘Sir’ as Ratna, the housemaid who falls for her employer, earlier in March at the 66th Filmfare Awards.
