Shreya Ghoshal Birthday Special: 5 Underrated and Lesser-Known Songs by the Artist
Shreya Ghoshal is one of Bollywood`s most popular and talented musicians. Today, on March 12, the Tum Kya Mile singer turned 40. Ghoshal began singing at the age of four and has been active in the Bollywood music industry since 1998. She rose to fame after winning the music reality show Sa Re Ga Ma in 2000.
She is one of those fine singers who defies autotune and any other voice-manipulating device. Shreya Ghoshal`s soulful vocals have added magic to songs that became musical masterpieces.
This song is from Gulzar`s 2016 album `Gulzar In Conversation With Tagore`, which features six poems and one song penned by Rabindranath Tagore translated into Hindi. Shantanu Moitra provided the music for the Hindi album, along with vocals from Shreya Ghoshal and Shaan.
2. Mann Bheetar
Man Bheetar is the title song of the album that goes with the same name. Released in 2020, the album consists of poems written by the kathak maestro Pandit Birju Maharaj. The music is composed by legendary artists such as Javed Ali and Ustad Rashid Khan.

The title song of the album, `Man Bheetar` and another song on the album, `Bhari Bhari,’ features vocals from Shreya Ghoshal. In addition, the singer has previously collaborated with Pandit Birju Maharaj on the song `Mohe Rang Do Lal` from Sanjay Leela Bhansali`s 2015 film `Bajirao Mastani`.
Shreya Ghoshal sung ‘Qaraar’ for Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s 2022 album ‘Sukoon’. While talking about the song, Shreya shared, “It is when you go through the entire relationship, the depth and experience of life teaches you the true meaning of long lost love.”
Apart from ‘Qaraar’, Shreya also did the playback singing for the song ‘Tujhe Bhi Chand’ in the same album.
4. Habit
The music video `Habit`, released in 2021, stars the late Sidharth Shukla and Shehnaaz Gill. The song features upbeat dance music with Punjabi language vocals and was composed by Arko, who also features in the song himself.
5. Nah Woh Main
This song was released in 2020, making it her third single and the first song for which she is credited as a contributing writer. The music for this song was composed by Saumyadeep Ghoshal, who is the brother of Shreya Ghoshal, and the lyrics were written by Manoj Yadav.
