In 2021, the cricketer and model collaborated for a bold and steaming photoshoot. The two grew closer while spending time at work. According to several Pakistani media, their closeness towards each other was the reason for Sania Mirza to move back to India and live separately.

Pakistani fans extended their support to Sania and said it is Shoaib`s loss to let her go.
