Mani Ratnam - A.R. Rahman are back to creating magical masterpieces. With their upcoming Pan-India movie Ponniyin Selvan, the duo dropped the first single, Ponni Nadhi, from the much-awaited magnum opus. The song was launched amid a huge fanfare happening at a mall in Chennai during the promotions of the movie.

With Ilango Krishnan's lyrics and vocals by A.R. Rahman, Ponni Nadhi exudes the glorious journey of the Chola King, Vallavaraiyan Vandiyadevan, portrayed by Karthi. Seen riding through the kingdom, the King has an important message for everyone in the song.

Even as the song describes about the beauty of the river, farms, women of the kingdom, and everything in between - it still is a powerful reminder for the King to finish all the tasks he has on his hands. The lines suggest that he must see the river before the sunset.

The grandeur vision of Ponni Nadhi received a thunderous applaud from the audience, so much so, that it was shown twice and played thrice for the fans present there. Without saying any further, we'll leave you to enjoy this marvellous treat.
