Chitrangada Singh`s take on 8-hour shift debate for working mom actors
Who doesn`t strive for a harmonious work-life balance, particularly in a profession that requires constant glamour and availability? Deepika Padukone`s exit from Sandeep Reddy Vanga`s Spirit due to the 8-hour working shift demand stirred a debate, forcing many actors to share their opinions on the same.
It all started when Deepika demanded an 8-hour work shift in Spirit, which could`ve marked her return after becoming a mother. Now, actress Chitrangda Singh shared her take on the same, not just as a working mother but also as a producer.
When asked if she still finds women raising eyebrows by simply putting their own reasonable demands on the table, the Housefull 5 actress said, “For somebody like Deepika, who is so senior, who has the stardom to make her demands and the privilege to decide whether she wants to be part of a project, depending on whether they accept what she wants, I think it`s a great place to be. And it`s great that she could come forward and put these demands out for herself.”

Apart from being a fabulous actor, the diva is also a doting mother. She recently took on the role of a producer. She backed the 2018 release, Soorma, which was headlined by Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu.
She looked at the matter from the lens of a producer and said, “From a director`s or producer’s point of view, you also have to take care of the business of cinema."

"I understand that they have certain plans and there`s a sort of schedule as well. So, you`re also running against the few markers you have when it comes to money or time,” she added.
The Desi Boyz actress continued, “But I do think that they both have a right to make a choice. I do not want to call out anybody at all, because on one side, somebody is talking of professional commitments, while on the other side, someone is talking of personal commitments, and the personal and professional spaces don`t always overlap that well."
"So, it’s very difficult for that kind of balance to be found in a workplace, especially in an industry where ‘work work work’ is everything, even at times money. This is the nature of our industry, and I don`t think we can change that overnight,” she concluded.
On the work front, Chitrangda Singh was recently seen in the multi-starrer comedy franchise Housefull 5. She was also a crucial part of Neeraj Pandey`s Khakee: The Bengal Chapter.
