Akshay Kumar`s highly anticipated film, Welcome to the Jungle, appears to be in troubled waters. The star-studded project, which was announced with much fanfare, has reportedly stalled due to significant financial difficulties, casting a shadow of uncertainty over its future.
The situation has been exacerbated by multiple last-minute cancellations of shooting schedules. A source revealed, “Around two to three schedules of Welcome To The Jungle have been cancelled over the last six months, leaving the actors and their team confused about the prospects. The actors have been allotting dates for the shoot of Welcome To The Jungle to producer Firoz Nadiadwala, and the same stands cancelled at the last minute due to logistical and financial issues.”

While many actors are said to be continuing with the project out of their fondness for the popular Welcome franchise, the persistent issues have taken a toll. “There are also issues of non-payment of dues to the actors and their staff. Some of the originally cast actors have left the film, and the remaining are still lending their support for the love of the franchise," a source added. Notably, veteran actor Sanjay Dutt has reportedly exited the film after shooting for about 15 days, citing scheduling conflicts arising from the disorganised shoot.
Interestingly, another news report suggests that Akshay Kumar holds a majority 80 per cent stake in the film, with producer Firoz Nadiadwala and others sharing the remaining 20 per cent. Nadiadwala has yet to make a public statement on the matter.
Directed by Ahmed Khan, Welcome to the Jungle boasts an impressive cast, including Paresh Rawal, Sanjay Dutt, Suniel Shetty, Raveena Tandon, and Jacqueline Fernandez, among others. Initially slated for a Christmas 2024 release, the film`s journey to the big screen now seems fraught with challenges.
