Ray: New Netflix series brings alive the legacy of India’s most celebrated cinematic genius

The makers of the upcoming Netflix series ‘Ray’ dropped its trailer, earlier on Tuesday morning. Comprising of a fine ensemble cast, ‘Ray’ is the coming together of four stories, brought to life by three directors namely Abhishek Chaubey, Srijit Mukherji and Vasan Bala. Written by Niren Bhatt and Siraj Ahmed, ‘Ray’ celebrates the illustrious legacy of India’s most popular film and literary figure Satyajit Ray.
Inspired from Ray’s works, the four episodes are named, ‘Hungama Hai Kyon Barpa’, ‘Forget Me Not’, ‘Bahrupiya’ and ‘Spotlight’. These stories explore intricate human dynamics and are laden with twists and thrills. Replete with complex emotions, the characters in these episodes will be brought to life by Manoj Bajpayee, Gajraj Rao, Ali Fazal, Shweta Basu Prasad, Anindita Bose, Kay Kay Menon, Bidita Bag, Dibyendu Bhattacharya, Harshvarrdhan Kapoor, Radhika Madan, Chandan Roy Sanyal and Akansha Ranjan Kapoor, among others.
Produced by Viacom 18 Studios and Tipping Point Films, ‘Ray’ premieres on Netflix from June 25, 2021 onwards.
