Present scenario: Today, Aamir Khan stands as one of the major superstars of Bollywood. Defying age at 48, this versatile actor has attained a winning feat in every arena of filmmaking. As the highest paid actors of the industry, his recent 80 percent stake in Farhan Akhtars 2012 production Talaash reiterated Aamirs standing in Bollywood. The actor is also actively involved in conversations with his fans via the social network. It remains yet another well thought of move to capitalise on the popularity.

Satyameva Jayate: The next most meticulously worked out step was to foray into television. Taking along his best at everything tag, Aamir debuted on the small screen with the show Satyameva Jayate in 2012. Paid a whopping Rs 30 million per episode, AK ensured every pennys worth with the show revolving around social evils and sensitive issues, all in an attempt to bring about a change in present day India. Making an easy entry into the TIME magazine and grabbing all the spotlight, AK did it yet again and proved his worth.

Brand Aamir: A host of superhit films and a large fanbase only assured a volley of brands in Aamirs kitty. The actor, who is associated with dependency, has been the most sought-after celebrity for endorsements. Shunning awards: A stark contrast to his colleagues, who attended every single award-ceremony in B-town, Aamir refrained from them. Citing reasons like lack of credibility for staying away from popular awards, he once said, I dont trust them, hence I would prefer to stay away. The actor however holds high regard for honours like the National Film Awards. This statement led him to garner more trust from fans and industry biggies, attributing more integrity to his work above anything else.

Tag perfect: Donning the directors hat in Taare Zameen Par -2007, his eye for detail led him to be tagged as Mr Perfectionist. Trailing the success of all these films, Aamir set the record straight with Ghajini and 3 Idiots released in 2008 and 2009 respectively. Choosing a rather different path away from his contemporaries like Shah Rukh and Salman, who did two-three films a year, Aamir seemed content with his one-flick-at-a-time funda.

Flaw in formula? In 2005, after a four-year break, Aamir resurfaced with his much anticipated film Mangal Pandey: The Rising. With his then new look, Aamir took everyone by a storm. His next film Rang De Basanti released in 2006 made him the apple of all eyes yet again.

Setting benchmarks: Post some serious introspection, the superstar to launch his own production house Aamir Khan Films that produced its first ambitious venture Lagaan in the year 2001. Up next: Aamir continued to render hits like Raja Hindustani, Ishq, Sarfarosh and Earth. But the phase also saw AK give some flops like Mela, Ghulam, Baazi and Mann. The string of duds made the superstar rather pensive and he decided to re-think his decisions. Seeing all highs and lows simultaneously, Aamir chose to concentrate on the script and his character rather than the commercially viable films.
