She plays a feisty con woman, who sticks scissors in her victims thighs! This is one promising girl for sure!
Competition in Bollywood is rife among the leggy brigade. Anushka has often been compared to Deepika Padukone. Both girls are tall, model-turned-actresses, debuted in an SRK film and are from Bangalore. Deepika appeared in a bikini in Housefull and Anushka follows suit in Badmaash Company. That has sent tongues wagging again but Anushka takes it all in her stride.
Just a film old in Bollywood, she is already making waves. Her linkup with Badmaash Company co-star Shahid Kapoor was talk of the town. Their steamy scene in the film was also much hyped. She has portrayed two contrasting personas in her two films; a demure wife and a scheming con artist. She does justice to both with her versatility. Her dream role would be a female superman.
Anushka represents the classic Indian lady with large, expressive eyes, fair complexion, long tresses and a soft-spoken demeanor. Her smile is especially bewitching. The leggy lady arrived on the Bollywood film circuit with Yash Raj Films Rab Ne Bana De Jodi opposite SRK. A major banner, a top star a dream debut. She played Daani, a sedate Punjabi girl. Her performance was well-received by the audiences. Its no mean feat to star alongside SRK and yet manage to shine. Her simple, salwar-kameez clad avatar was appreciated. Anushka had arrived!
Anushka earlier aspired to be a model. She enrolled in the Elite Modeling Agency. She was groomed by renowned style consultant Prasad Bidapa, from the time she was 15. The 59 tall lass was discovered by Wendell Rodericks. She has walked for his Les Vamps Show and the Spring Summer 07 Collection. Since then she has done campaigns for Silk & Shine, Whisper, Nathella Jewelry, and Fiat Palio.
Anushka joins the ranks of Southern beauties like Rekha, Sridevi and the recent Deepika Padukone who stepped into Bollywood. She hails from Bangalore and has an army background. Her father, Col. Ajay Kumar Sharma, is an army officer and mother, a house wife. She has an elder brother named Karnesh, who was a state-level cricketer. Anushka studied in Army School and graduated with specialization in arts from Mount Carmel College, Bangalore. She took up modeling after her std 12th.
Bollywood has seen a host of newcomers in the recent past. One that stands out is the stately beauty Anushka Sharma. She made her foray into Bollywood in 2008 and is set for a long innings in tinseltown.
