
As the celebrated Indian filmmaker turns 76 on Oct 25, we take a look at some of her most iconic cinematic works.

1. The Rapist- Starring her daughter, Konkana Sen Sharma and and Arjun Rampal in the lead role, the film premiered at the Busan International Film Festival on 7th October, 2021 and also won the ‘Kim Jiseok’ award.

2. Paromitar Ek Din- Not only has Sen directed the film but has also acted in the film. The film has won many National and International Awards. It won the ‘National Film Award’ for ‘Best Feature Film in Bengali’. She played the character of Sanaka (the mother in-law) in the film.

3. Mr. and Mrs. Iyer- Starring Konkana and Rahul Bose in lead roles, the film was written and directed by Sen. The film has won many national and international awards including Golden Maile Award at the ‘Hawaii International Film Festival’ and the 'National Award for Best Screenplay’.

4. 36 Chowringhee Lane- The 1981 film was the directorial debut of Sen. The film stars Jennifer Kendal, Debashree Roy and Dhritiman Chaterjee. The film was well received by critics. Kendal won the Best Actress award at the 1982 Evening Standard British Film Awards.

5. 15 Park Avenue - The 2005 film is primarily in English. The film stars Konkona, Shabana Azmi and Rahul Bose among others. The plot of the film revolves around Meethi (played by Konkana) a 30-year old diagnosed with schizophrenia.
