The world’s largest multi-genre Music festival, Lollapalooza is all set to make its India debut after traveling through 7 countries across 3 continents. This will mark the global festival’s first foray into Asia. The Lollapalooza India lineup include some of the biggest names including American pop rock acts Imagine Dragons, post rock revival icons The Strokes, K-Pop idol Jackson Wang, dream pop exponents Cigarettes After Sex, EDM producers Diplo and Zhu, pop star Alec Benjamin Canadian-Indian rapper AP Dhillon of Brown Munde fame amongst others. When Lollapalooza India 2023 announced its line up, it drew mixed reactions from music fans, some fans calling the line up underwhelming while many took to Twitter dissing the line up calling it ‘thin’ and ‘mild’. But for fans of rock music there is good news, as there are quite a few international acts they can look forward to at Lollapalooza India 2023

The Strokes

The Strokes are an American rock group often credited with having spearheaded a revival of 1960s-style garage rock in the early 21st century. Rock music had taken a curve for the worse at the turn of this century before The Strokes injected new life into it with their debut album, ‘Is This It’. Famously known to be compared with ‘The Killers’, their legacy and influence of effectively reintroducing the popularity of indie rock in the new millennium, continue to factor into pop culture conversations. The Strokes return for their 10th Lollapalooza appearance at the debut India edition!

Greta Van Fleet

Channelling the sheer awe and power of rock legends from the 1970s, it rains love and thunder when Greta Van Fleet hits the stage, known to be absolute grand arena rock foot stompers. It’s rock n’ roll, people!

Popular with old and new rockers alike, Greta Van Fleet, named after a local resident, hail from Frankenmuth, Michigan, and comprise three brothers, Josh, guitarist Jake and bassist Sam Kiszka and drummer Danny Wagner. Most rock fans draw sharp comparisons to Greta Van Fleet and 1970s musical and classic rock geniuses Led Zeppelin. The group simply offers a rich and bluesy sound that relies heavily on guitar riffs, blazing vocals and a percussion backbone that ensures a strong and powerful construct with each song. Catch them live at Lollapalooza India for some old school rock music.

The Wombats

British indie rock trio the Wombats make driving post-punk and new wave-influenced pop marked by their cheeky, satirically sharp-tongued point of view. The band initially broke through with their 2007 debut album, A Guide to Love, Loss & Desperation, which hit the Top 20 in the U.K. They have continued to mature, balancing chart success with artful productions like 2011`s This Modern Glitch, 2015`s Glitterbug, and 2018`s Beautiful People Will Ruin Your Life, each of which reached the Top Five on the U.K. albums chart. In 2022, the group released their fifth studio album, Fix Yourself, Not the World.
