The Family Man Season 2 Trailer: Manoj Bajpayee and Samantha Akkineni promise a thrilling cat and mouse chase in phenomenal trailer

Touted to release earlier this year in February, the second season of the much-loved and widely appreciated ‘The Family Man’ had to be delayed, owing to the controversy that digital giant Amazon Prime Video was embroiled in following the uproar caused by its January release, ‘Tandav’. Also many people felt that another stand-out reason for the delay could be the scheduled state elections in Tamil Nadu.
But finally, much to the extreme happiness of fans, the team of ‘The Family Man’ dropped the trailer of its second season, earlier this afternoon. Directed by Raj and DK and Suparn Verma, the trailer shows Shrikant Tiwari Manoj Bajpayee stuck in a thankless corporate job, having taken a brief sabbatical from the field, so that he could work upon saving his failing marriage with Suchitra Priyamani. The couple is shown to be seeking therapy together, leaving viewers wondering what transpired that fateful night at Lonavala between Suchi and her business partner Arvind Sharad Kelkar
Tiwari is having major FOMO issues which his colleague JK Sharib Hashmi suggests while the latter is stationed in Chennai. Meanwhile, a threatening coalition between ISI and the Tamil Rebels is forming, urging the top bosses at TASC to summon Tiwari, once again. This time, his prime nemesis is Raji, Samanta Akkineni the leader of a terrorist outfit.
Pitting Samantha, a superstar down South in her own right against the National-Award winning Bajpayee itself is juicy premise, leaving viewers totally excited for the new season. Besides the primary cast, the show pretty much retains the actors from Season 1. A huge reason that leads to the popularity of ‘The Family Man’ franchise is the co-existence of actors from across languages.
Written by Suman Kumar and Raj and DK, the show will feature dialogues in Hindi and Tamil. It will also be interesting to discover the soundtrack of the new season as the previous season featured popular Indie names including The Local Train, Thaikkudam Bridge, Aabha Hanjura and Underground Authority besides the brilliant musical score by Sachin-Jigar.
‘The Family Man’ Season 2 premieres on Amazon Prime Video from June 4, 2021 onwards.
