Respect and warmth from one star to another
At a recent promotional event in Kochi for Tamil actor Soori`s latest family film, Maaman, Malayalam star Unni Mukundan expressed his profound admiration for Soori. The film, featuring Swasika and Aishwarya Lekshmi alongside Soori, premiered today.
In his address, Unni Mukundan recounted a particularly moving instance that underscored Soori’s generous nature. He described how, upon the Tamil Nadu release of his own film, `Marco`, Soori had taken the initiative to send him a heartfelt video message conveying his best wishes for its success. Unni Mukundan emphasized the personal significance of this spontaneous act, noting that Soori had also thoughtfully included his younger brother’s film in his well wishes, all without any prior prompting. This unexpected support, Unni stated, had profoundly touched him and stood out as a unique and cherished moment in his professional journey.
Having recently shared the screen with Soori in the Tamil film Garudan, where Soori held the lead role and Unni Mukundan played a significant character, Unni Mukundan also spoke highly of Soori`s impressive acting abilities. He lauded Soori’s remarkable ability to transition seamlessly between comedic timing and deeply impactful emotional portrayals. Unni expressed his gratitude for the chance to have worked alongside him on `Garudan`.
Concluding his remarks, Unni Mukundan conveyed his sincere hopes for the triumph of `Maaman` in Kerala, drawing a favorable comparison to the recent positive reception of Sasikumar’s film, `Tourist Family`, in the state. He encouraged the audience to experience `Maaman` in theaters and support Soori’s latest cinematic offering.
Helmed by director Prasanth Pandiyaraj, with a story crafted by Soori, `Maaman` delves into the affectionate relationship between a maternal uncle and his nephew within a family setting. The film features musical compositions by Hesham Abdul Wahab.
