A film studio founded by Akkineni Nageswara Rao named Annapurna Studios also took to social media and mourned the director`s death. This is the same studio where Satyam was shot.

"Our journey together for Satyam was special. May your soul rest in peace, Surya Kiran Garu. Strength to the family," read the tweet. Have a look.

More about Telugu director Surya Kiran

Although he is widely known for his directorial masterpieces like Satyam, Dhana 51, Raju Bhai, and Brahmastram, among others, Surya Kiran was also a celebrated actor.

He started his career in the entertainment industry as a child actor. He went on to work in over 200 movies in his early years before donning the director`s hat.

His first project as a filmmaker was the 2003 release Satyam, starring Sumanth and Genelia D`Souza. It went on to become a monstrous blockbuster at the box office.

The last project he worked on was Arasi, headlined by Varalaxmi Sarathkumar. The shooting of the film is complete and will be released soon. Unfortunately, Surya Kiran won`t be around to celebrate its success.

Rest in peace, legend. You will be missed.
