Bollywood fights and controversies are part and parcel of everyday news. While some get solved in no time, others go on for years together. One such tiff between two actors was that between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover. They were known for their on-screen camaradarie, but their infamous fight went on for seven long years.

Now, the two comedy actors are reuniting after seven years for The Great Indian Kapil Show on Netflix, where Sunil Grover will be retunring in his iconic character, Guthi. It premieres on March 30.

Due to their infamous fight and various other reasons, the two stars didn't work together for six years. In a recent interview, Grover opened up about his fight with Kapil and jokingly called it a 'publicity stunt.'

The two actors, who ended their friendship and on-screen camaraderie after a huge fight, are now joining hands for a new Netflix show. Ahead of the show's premiere, Sunil and Kapil sat down for a press conference and addressed their infamous tiff.

With satire and sarcasm at their peak, Grover said the two had pre-planned the entire fiasco years ago to welcome the streaming giant to India. 'We were seated on the flight, and we learned that Netflix was coming to India. So, kuch aisa ho ke (acha) publicity stunt ho," he said, poking fun at his and Sharma's fight.

He even joked that Netflix had called them, asking what could be done to promote the streaming platform in the country, and thus this idea was born.

Keeping all the jokes aside, Kapil Sharma said Sunil Grover was rather busy with other series and projects, due to which the two couldn't find the right time to reunite. The latter then made his comeback, as Guthi felt like returning home as he enjoyed working with Kapil and his team.

What happened between Kapil Sharma and Sunil Grover?

It was a mid-air fight between the two actors-comedians who had a major fallout in 2017 on a flight while they were flying back to Mumbai after wrapping up a show in Australia.

Sunil Grover had already become a household name thanks to his popular characters, Guthi and Dr. Mashoor Gulati. His comic timing was impeccable, and fans loved his equation with Kapil Sharma.

Reports suggest the Crew actor was under the influence of alcohol or drugs when he hit his co-star, thus upsetting him so much that he quit the show and left the audience shocked.

However, with the teasers of The Great Indian Kapil Show already showing a reunion of Kapil and Guthi, fans cannot contain their excitement to see the iconic duo back together.

In a recent interview with Lallantop Cinema, the Tandav actor was asked if there was any awkwardness between the two when he met Kapil on the sets of the Netflix show.

Denying the same, he said they were in touch even after the fight. 'We would talk sometimes. It's not like we never spoke we were in touch with each other. We met also."

Though he did not get much into the details of the patch-up, Grover added, 'Such things happen sometimes.'
