Halloween came in a little early this year as R Madhavan, Ajay Devgn, and Jyothik starrer Shaitaan trailer is out. It is all things spooky and will give sleepless nights. The film is based on hypnotism and black magic.

Thursday saw the release of the upcoming horror film 'Shaitaan.' This movie marks the comeback of the famous duo Jyothika and R Madhavan, where the latter plays the menacing antagonist in the film. Ajay Devgn is the male lead, while Janki Bodiwala plays the role of his daughter.

The trailer begins with R Madhavan asking help from Ajay Devgn and Jyothika to stay at their place for just a few minutes until his phone gets charged. When he refuses to leave even after a while, Ajay resorts to manhandling him outside, but the unexpected happens. His daughter (Janki Bodiwala) stops him, leaving everyone shocked.

R Madhavan claims that he has hypnotised the daughter. In a series of shocking events, the daughter even slaps her father and attacks her mother on R Madhavan's command. The trailer has definitely piqued the interest of the audience as to who or what exactly is R Madhavan and what fate befalls Ajay's family.

Here's What the Cast Had to Say at the Trailer Launch

This film is a comeback for Ajay Devgn to the horror genre after his last film Bhoot released in 2003. About his role, the actor said, "It's not that we (superstars) don't want to do horror films. If we get something interesting, then why not?... I like this genre, and I was waiting to explore it again. When I did 'Bhoot' we got a lot of appreciation after that, I didn't get any script that was good in this genre."

Jyothika plays the mother in Shaitaan. When asked about her comeback in this role, Jyothika said, "I think when it comes to a daughter, there is no bigger warrior than a mother. My kids are of the same age... So, I didn't have to put any effort in it. I used to cry after watching her enact a scene. It is really a vision of a mother."

More About Shaitaan

Shaitaan is a remake of the Gujarati horror film, 'Vash' which came out in 2023. It was written and directed by Krishnadev Yagnik. Janki Bodiwala, who played the daughter's role in Vash will also be seen in Shaitaan in the sale role.

The movie is directed by Vikas Bahl, who's known for films like Super 30, Queen, and Goodbye. While talking about his experience directing a supernatural movie, Bahl mentioned that he had to do a lot of homework, which also included watching the 1980 film 'Shining' as an example.

Shaitaan is produced by Devgn, Kumar Mangat Pathak, and Abhishek Pathak, under the banners of Ajay Devgn Films and Panorama Studios. Shaitaan will be out in theatres on 8th March 2024.
