Ranveer Singh Replaces Shah Rukh Khan In Don 3 As Farhan Akhtar Shares New Teaser, Fans React

Ranveer Singh is currently soaring high on the success of Rocky Aur Rani Ki Prem Kahaani. As the movie continues to receive rave reviews, speculation is that the actor will be replacing Shah Rukh Khan in the third installment of Don. Well, Farhan Akhtar has cleared the air and confirmed Ranveer Singh will play the new gangster in Don 3.
The filmmaker shared the teaser for Don 3, which revealed Ranveer Singh as the new Don. The RRKPK actor has big shoes to fill as he replaces the original Don Shah Rukh Khan. On Twitter, Farhan Akhtar shared the Don 3 teaser and “A New Era Begins #Don3.”
The Don 3 teaser begins with Ranveer Singh sitting with his back facing the camera. He is seen wearing a leather jacket and leather boots and smoking a cigarette before he turns to the camera and introduces himself as Don.
Farhan Akhtar`s note read, “It was 1978 when the nation witnessed the rage of Don for the first time, with superstar Mr. Amitabh Bachchan playing the lead. While the first film continues to hold its charm, Excel Entertainment is delighted to announce the directorial homecoming of Farhan Akhtar`s Don. With a legacy firmly established through his iconic two-film action franchise with Shah Rukh Khan in 2006 and 2011, the director is set to redefine the boundaries of storytelling once again in Don 3.”
“The time has now come to take the legacy of Don forward, and joining us in this new interpretation will be an actor whose talent and versatility I have long admired. We hope that you will show him the love you have so graciously and generously shown to Mr. Bachchan and Shah Rukh Khan. A new era for Don begins in 2025. Watch this space," the filmmaker further added.
One user wrote, "I can`t imagine Don without Shah Rukh Khan," while another comment read, "When people were asking for Don 3, this is not what they meant."
Amidst all the backlash, Ranveer Singh fans came to his rescue and accepted him as the new Don. One user commented, “The voice, the look, the style, the walk! Everything is just pure magic! DON! The Ranveer Singh era!”
He went on to make the second installment with the same cast in 2011. Don 2 also featured Boman Irani in a prominent role. Hrithik Roshan made a special appearance in the film.

Farhan Akhtar and his partner Ritesh Sidhwani officially purchased the original rights to the Amitabh Bachchan-led Don, which was released in 1978. He went on to remake the movie with Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra in the lead. The first part of Don was released in 2006.He went on to make the second installment with the same cast in 2011. Don 2 also featured Boman Irani in a prominent role. Hrithik Roshan made a special appearance in the film.
