Farhan Akhtar's third installment of Don has already garnered enough attention even before its official announcement. Amid the rumors of Ranveer Singh replacing Shah Rukh Khan as the new Don, the filmmaker dropped the announcement teaser for Don 3.
The latest
teaser for Don 3 has put all speculation around the movie's third installment to rest. On Instagram, Farhan Akhtar shared the announcement teaser and wrote, 'A new era begins.'
However, while announcing the beginning of Don 3, the filmmaker did not reveal the cast of the much-anticipated film. If reports are to be believed, Ranveer Singh will be seen playing the new Don in the cult classic. He will be replacing
Shah Rukh Khan, who has played the menacing gangster in the first two parts of Don.
However, neither Farhan nor Ranveer have confirmed the news.

Ritesh Sidhwani bought the original rights to the Amitabh Bachchan-led 1978 classic Don. They remade it with Shah Rukh Khan and Priyanka Chopra in the lead. The first part of the movie was released in 2006, and the second installment came out in 2011. It reunited SRK and Peecee yet again.
Don 2 also featured Boman Irani and Kareena Kapoor Khan in prominent roles. Even its popular song, Yeh Mera Dil, saw an upgraded version in Don 2.
Earlier, Sidhwani was asked about the status of the third installment of the cult classic. Confirming the same, he said,
'Till my partner (Farhan Akhtar) finishes writing it, we won't do anything. Right now, he is in the process of completing the script. Even all of us are eagerly waiting to see 'Don'.'Reportedly, the first teaser of Don 3 will be seen during the theatrical release of
Gadar 2 and OMG 2, where Ranveer Singh will be introduced as the new Don. The two movies will release on August 11 in cinemas near you.
