Director Anurag Basu recently revealed a poignant moment on set, highlighting the profound absence of late actor Irrfan Khan, a central figure in the prequel, "Life In a... Metro."
Basu shared, "We were shooting a scene, and the tone for it was a little similar to a scene from the first film. Suddenly, Konkona started crying, and even right now, I am worried that the same will happen if someone asks a question about him." This heartfelt admission underscores the lasting impact Irrfan Khan had on his colleagues and the void his passing in 2020 left.
The event wasn`t just about Irrfan Khan; Anurag Basu also paid tribute to the late singer KK, who lent his soulful voice to two of the most iconic tracks from the prequel`s album: "Alvida" and "O Meri Jaan". Basu articulated the collective sentiment, "We miss him; we miss KK very much, and there are many others who are missing now, with whom we collaborated earlier." This acknowledgement extended to other integral crew members who are no longer with them, showcasing the deep bonds formed during cinematic collaborations.

At the launch of the song "Zamaana Lage" from "Metro...In Dino", Anurag Basu recounted how actress Konkona Sen Sharma, who was paired with Irrfan Khan in the first instalment, became visibly emotional during filming.
