The makers of the upcoming film, ‘Fukrey Returns’ released the first song from the movie’s soundtrack, earlier this morning.
Titled, ‘Mehbooba’, the Fukrey gang featuring Pulkit Samrat, Ali Fazal, Manjot Singh and Varun Sharma shake a leg to remake of the retro Mohammad Rafi hit from the Dharmendra-Zeenat Aman-starrer ‘Dharam Veer’.
However, the track has all the usual tropes of remaking an old song have been deployed, including a rap portion by Raftaar and the song being picturized at a nightclub. Inspite of retaining Rafi sahab’s vocals, the song has backing vocals by Yasser Desai and Neha Kakkar that weren’t frankly necessary.
Produced by Farhan Akhtar and Ritesh Sidhwani, ‘Fukrey Returns’ also stars Richa Chadha.
Directed by Mrighdeep Singh Lamba, the film releases in cinemas on December 15th, 2017.
