One of the most anticipated movies that has kept fans waiting with baited breath is Don 3: The Chase Ends. The Farhan Akhtar directorial will be headlined by Ranveer Singh, a fresh face in the Don universe, after he replaces Shah Rukh Khan.

After tons of speculation and rumors doing the rounds on the internet, Farhan's production company, Excel Entertainment, has revealed Kiara Advani will be the female lead of Don 3. She will be playing the badass cop who is on a hunt for the menacing and notorious underground mafia.

After teasing the fans with a special announcement video on social media, Excel Entertainment took to Instagram and introduced Kiara as the female lead in the upcoming action drama.
Sharing the video, the production house wrote. 'Welcome to the Don universe, @kiaraaliaadvani, #Don3.' However, the announcement video does not reveal Kiara's first look or any details about her characters in the film.
It does, however, keep the iconic theme music intact throughout the video. We assume the JugJugg Jeeyo actress will be stepping into Priyanka Chopra's shoes, who headlined the past two installments.
The speculations around Kiara Advani being the female lead in Don 3 have sparked ever since she was spotted visiting the Excel Entertainment office recently. When Farhan was asked about the same, he dodged the question, saying it was all work in progress.
The actor-filmmaker said, "Well, it's all work in progress. I don't want to get ahead of myself and say something that I may have to take back for any other reason, but as and when it happens, you'll know.'

When the Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani actor was announced as the lead in Don 3, he received a lot of flak and backlash from SRK fans. Many even doubted if he would be able to pull off such an intense role and do justice to Shah Rukh's legacy.
When asked by the director about this, he assured the audience that Ranveer would do an equally great job.
Farhan said, 'It really is about an actor coming in and owning the part and making it really like, giving it their style and their flair. And he has that he has that in spades. So he is going to do a great job. I think the responsibility is more mine now to make sure that the script and the film work out the way I imagine.'
