Producer Vijay Kiragandur of Hombale Films shared the immense emotional and creative magnitude of the project, stating, “‘Kantara: Chapter 1’ is undoubtedly our most ambitious project to date—and there are several reasons why. The film, a prequel to the 2022 sleeper hit Kantara, delves deeper into the Bhuta Kola ritual and its associated mythology, set against the backdrop of pre-colonial coastal Karnataka. The production even built an entire studio to create an elaborate palace set, allowing for complete creative control and authenticity.
