The fifth installment of the immensely popular Housefull franchise, Housefull 5, has stormed the box office, concluding its opening weekend with an impressive collection of over ₹87 crore in India. The Akshay Kumar-led ensemble comedy has defied mixed critical reviews, proving once again that the franchise remains a massive draw for audiences.
The film, which hit theatres on Friday, June 6, has been on an upward trajectory since its release. After a solid opening day collection of ₹24 crore, the movie saw a significant jump on Saturday, earning ₹31 crore, boosted by the Bakrid holiday. The momentum continued into Sunday, with the film raking in a spectacular ₹32 crore, marking a 3.23 percent increase from its Saturday earnings. This strong performance has brought the film`s total domestic collection to a staggering ₹87 crore in just three days.
This weekend`s success also marks a personal best for Akshay Kumar post-pandemic, with Housefull 5`s opening weekend surpassing that of his 2021 hit Sooryavanshi, which had collected ₹77 crore. The film`s worldwide gross after three days stands at ₹87 crore, with ₹22 crore coming from overseas markets.
Housefull 5 enjoyed robust theatre occupancy, especially on Sunday, with an overall figure of 39.52%. Key regions such as Lucknow, Mumbai, Ahmedabad, and Jaipur witnessed the highest footfalls. Evening shows, in particular, saw a peak occupancy of 54.77%.
