Housefull 5 Advance Booking
The wait is almost over! The much-awaited comedy extravaganza Housefull 5, starring the Khiladi of Bollywood, Akshay Kumar, is gearing up to set the big screen ablaze on June 6. With advance bookings now officially open, the excitement is palpable, and early numbers suggest a roaring start for this laugh riot.
Furthermore, factoring in block seats, industry insiders predict the movie is set for a grand opening with ₹5.67 crore in gross earnings. States like Maharashtra and the Delhi NCR region are leading the charge with maximum revenue from first-day advance bookings. Gujarat is also showing strong numbers, followed closely by Rajasthan, Uttar Pradesh, and Telangana. City-wise, Delhi, Mumbai, and Pune boast the highest number of screenings for the film.
This installment is not just big in terms of its release but also its budget. Housefull 5 is reportedly the costliest film in the beloved series, with a total budget pegged at ₹225 crore, excluding print and advertisement costs. This monumental figure also makes it the most expensive Indian comedy film to date. Initially, the makers had announced a budget of ₹350 crore, but some casting adjustments led to a significant cost reduction.
Marking 15 years of the "Housefull" series, the makers dropped an intriguing teaser on April 30, hinting at a fresh storyline centred around a lavish cruise ship and a perplexing murder mystery. The trailer, narrated by Nana Patekar, sets the stage: a billionaire celebrating his 100th birthday on a luxurious yacht decides to bequeath his inheritance to his ‘Jolly’. The confusion kicks in when three individuals—Jalabuddin (Riteish Deshmukh), Jalbhushan (Abhishek Bachchan), and Julius (Akshay Kumar)—all claim to be the rightful heir.

Manoj Desai, executive director of G7 multiplex (Gaiety Galaxy) and Maratha Mandir cinemas, shared his enthusiasm, stating, "I personally spoke to producer Sajid Nadiadwala, and we`ve decided that a different version of the film will play at Galaxy and a different version at Gaeity. Thus, both the theatres will have a unique experience."
Directed by Tarun Mansukhani, Housefull 5 boasts an ensemble cast featuring franchise regulars Akshay Kumar and Riteish Deshmukh, alongside Abhishek Bachchan, Jacqueline Fernandez, Sonam Bajwa, Nargis Fakhri, Sanjay Dutt, Jackie Shroff, Nana Patekar, and Chunky Panday, among many others.
However, the film faces a significant challenge at the box office as it clashes with Kamal Haasan`s highly anticipated Thug Life, which releases a day earlier on June 5. This competition, especially in the southern regions, will be one to watch. With its innovative release strategy and star-studded lineup, Housefull 5 is certainly aiming to offer a double dose of entertainment.
