BTS Members Jimin and Jungkook Return From Military Service After 18 Months

Jimin and Jungkook Military Discharge
The wait is finally over for the BTS ARMY! K-pop superstars Jimin and Jungkook, the youngest members of the global phenomenon BTS, were officially discharged from South Korea’s mandatory military service on Wednesday, marking a pivotal moment for the band`s future. Clad in their military uniforms, the duo saluted and greeted a massive crowd of devoted fans and reporters who had gathered to give them a hero`s welcome outside their army base in Yeoncheon, about 60 km north of Seoul.
“Actually, it’s been so long since I’ve been in front of cameras, and I didn’t even put on makeup, so I’m a bit embarrassed,” Jungkook admitted with a chuckle. Jimin also expressed his gratitude, saying, "It`s been quite a long time since COVID-19 and then the military, so thank you so much for waiting for us."

With their return, six of the seven BTS members have now completed their national duties. Jin, the eldest, was the first to be discharged in June 2024, followed by J-Hope in October of the same year. The final piece of the puzzle, Suga, who is serving as a social service agent, is expected to be discharged later this month on June 21.
While the group`s agency, HYBE, has hinted at a BTS comeback this year, they`ve also emphasised that the members "need time for reflection and preparation". The world now watches with bated breath as the biggest band on the planet prepares for its next chapter.

An Emotional and Shy Welcome
The return of `JiKook`, as they are affectionately known, was met with an outpouring of emotion. The two singers, visibly moved by the reception, won hearts with their `shy` reactions to the overwhelming attention. The Path to a Full Reunion
Jimin and Jungkook enlisted together in December 2023, just a day after their bandmates RM and V began their service. Their discharge comes hot on the heels of RM and V`s return on Tuesday, who received an equally emotional welcome.
