The month of love may be over but celebrations are in full swing for Bengali singers Anupam Roy and Prashmita Paul. The couple is all set to marry on March 2 in their hometown, Kolkata. It will be yet another
intimate affair where the couple will have a legal wedding in the presence of their close friends and family.
The two singers have known each other for a long time however, they started dating a year ago. Anupam Roy was previously married to mental health activist and social worker Piya Chakraborty. They called it quits in 2021, thus ending their six-year marriage.
The former couple has moved on and is happy in their respective lives. Piya Chakraborty is now married to Kahaani actor Parambrata Chatterjee.

Both Anupam and Prashmita come from the world of music and are prominent singers in the Bengali film industry. They have known each other professionally for years. They first met in a studio, and the rest is history.
In an interview with Sangbad Pratidin, Paul opened up about
her love story with the singer and said his fame never affected their relationship. She called him a 'good-hearted person.'
Prashmita Paul also revealed that there was no official proposal involved. It was a mutual understanding that the two would want to spend the rest of their lives with each other. There was no objection from their families, either.
In fact, it was their families who came together and fixed the wedding date.
Anupam Roy on relationships
The Moner Manush singer opened up in an old interview about his
stance on relationships and why he takes commitment pretty seriously. Anupam Roy married his first wife, Piya Chakraborty, in 2015. They parted ways in 2021.
"When it comes to relationships, I am a very serious person. I am fun otherwise. I crack jokes with Upalda (Sengupta). I play dumb charades with Joyda. But deep down, I am pretty serious. I am a family person I do groceries, decide the menu, organize the house, and do the dishes. I decorate my house and the Christmas tree. That's how I am," Roy said.
"If I date, I will think long-term. I am definitely not looking for a fling or a casual encounter. In fact, a rebound might also dilute my idea of emotional investment. I am more or less open to serious relationships," he further added.
Anupam Roy is known for creating incredible music for both the Bengali and Hindi film industries. He is a versatile singer, composer, and lyricist. Some of his best works include songs like Amake Amar Moto Thakte Dao, Beche Thakar Gaan, Ekhon Onek Raat, and
Jouney Song from Piku.
