Amitabh Bachchan`s emotional note on Dharmendra`s death
The nation is mourning after legendary actor Dharmendra passed away on Monday. After struggling with health-related issues, the veteran star breathed his last in his Mumbai residence on November 24.
Tributes are pouring in from all across the nation, with many celebrities mourning the loss of Bollywood`s "He-Man". Amitabh Bachchan, one of the actors with whom Dharmendra worked extensively, also penned an emotional note on his blog.
For the uninitiated, the two superstars have worked in several movies together, including Chupke Chupke, Sholay, Guddi, and Dost, among others.
Amitabh Bachchan`s heartfelt tribute to Dharmendra
On Monday night, the 83-year-old actor took to his blog and penned a moving tribute to his Veeru. He mentioned how Dharmendra`s death has left a "silence with an unbearable sound".
He wrote, “Another valiant Giant has left us, left the arena, leaving behind a silence with an unbearable sound.”

Talking about the late actor`s magnetic on-screen presence, Bachchan further added, “Dharam ji, the epitome of greatness, is ever linked not only for his renowned physical presence but also for the largeness of his heart and its most endearing simplicity. He brought with him the earthiness of the village in Punjab he came from and remained true to its temperament, unsoiled throughout his glorious career, in a fraternity that witnessed changes every decade."
"The fraternity underwent changes, not him. His smile, his charm and his warmth, extending to all that came in his vicinity, a rarity in the profession,” Amitabh Bachchan wrote.
Amitabh and Dharmendra first shared the screen in the 1974 release, Dost, followed by two blockbusters, Sholay and Chupke Chupke, in 1975.
Ending his tribute on a poignant note, the veteran actor wrote, “The air about us swings vacant, a vacuum that shall ever remain vacuous.”

The 89-year-old veteran superstar died on Monday, November 24, after suffering from health-related ailments. He was admitted to Mumbai`s Breach Candy Hospital and was discharged later on November 12.
Dharmendra was cremated at Vile Parle`s Pawan Hans Crematorium later in the day.
