Karan Johar`s heartfelt note on Dharmendra`s death
The Indian film industry is mourning the loss of legendary superstar Dharmendra, who passed away at 89. On Monday, the veteran actor breathed his last after struggling with health ailments. Many celebrities, including Karan Johar, mourned his death.
The Rocky Aur Rani Kii Prem Kahaani filmmaker, who was also a big Dharmendra fan, called his passing "the end of an era" as he penned a tearful goodbye. He reflected on the magnitude the superstar brought to the cinema.
Confirming the sad news, the filmmaker wrote his heart out on Instagram and shared a monochrome photo of Dharam Paaji. While the Deol family is yet to issue an official statement, KJo`s post has put the rumours to rest.
Karan Johar bids Dharmendra goodbye
Taking it to social media, Johar wrote, "It is the end of an ERA… a massive megastar… the embodiment of a HERO in mainstream cinema…" incredibly handsome and the most enigmatic screen presence … He is and will always be a bona fide legend of Indian cinema… defining and richly present in the pages of cinema history … but mostly he was the best human being… He was so loved by everyone in our industry."

He further added, "He only had immense love and positivity for everyone … His blessings, his hug and his incredible warmth will be missed more than words can describe …. Today there is a gaping hole in our industry … a space that can never be filled by anyone … There will always be the one and only DHARAMJI… We love you, kind Sir…. We will miss you so much…. The heavens are blessed today…. It will always be my blessing to have worked with you…. And my heart says with respect, reverence and love…. Abhi Na jao chodke…. Ke dil abhi bhara nahi…… OM SHANTI."

The Deol family was seen arriving at Mumbai`s Pawan Hans crematorium amid the tightened security, where the actor has been reportedly laid to rest.
Siblings Sunny, Bobby, and Esha Deol were spotted arriving at the crematorium. Hema Malini was also seen arriving along with Bollywood personalities like Amitabh Bachchan, Aamir Khan, and Abhishek Bachchan, among others.
The ambulance carrying the veteran star was seen arriving at the Vile Parle crematorium with close family members walking by.
Rest in peace, Dharam Paaji. You will be missed.
