1. Tabu as Reema Kumar in Talvar
One of the critically acclaimed movies based on a real-life story that will send shivers down your spine, Tabu plays the role of Reema Kumar, wife of Joint Director of CDI Ashwin Kumar (Irrfan Khan). While her role was brief, she left an everlasting impression that made her the star of the film.Talvar also featured Konkana Sen Sharma, Neeraj Kabi, and Gajraj Rao in prominent roles. Talvar marked Meghna Gulzar's second movie as a director.
2. Vicky Kaushal as Sam Manekshaw in Sam Bahadur
The recent release took the internet and box office by storm. Yet another story inspired by the real-life incidents from India's first field marshal, Sam Manekshaw's incredible life, Sam Bahadur saw Vicky Kaushal as the heart and soul of the film.There were months and months of preparation to bring Manekshaw's character to life. The actor gives Meghna Gulzar full credit when it comes to envisioning the story and his performance.
Despite it clashing with Ranbir Kapoor's Animal, the filmmaker continues to take pride in the response her movie has gotten.
3. Alia Bhatt as Sehmat in Raazi
Do we even need to say anything about this masterpiece? One of Meghna's finest works, Raazi, was headlined by Alia Bhatt and Vicky Kaushal. An Indian spy marrying a Pakistani army officer to dig up some confidential information to save the course of her country was a brilliant story narrated by the filmmaker.Shaping Alia from the shy, coy girl to her relentless and fearless character, Gulzar ensured what remained constant was her conscience and innocence.
4. Vikrant Massey as Amol in Chhapaak
While the film was all about Deepika Padukone portraying an acid survivor's character, it was Vikrant Massey who stole the show and our hearts.The actor played Malti's (Deepika's) biggest support and love interest in Chhapaak. He was the greenest of the green flags a woman can ever ask for.
