India awaited with bated breath as the Supreme Court announced the verdict on legalizing same-sex marriages. However, the decision wasnt in favor of the LGBTQIA+ community, and everyone was left disappointed, including several Bollywood celebrities. Many reacted to the verdict as they expressed their feelings on social media. Read on to find out which celeb said what about the same-sex marriage verdict.

1. Hansal Mehta
The popular filmmaker has time and again extended his support to the LGBTQIA+ community. Be it through his movies or interviews, Hansal Mehta has been a flagbearer of inclusivity. He even explored a beautiful story in his recent anthology, Modern Love: Mumbai, by showing two modern gay men falling in love.He took to Twitter and said, "Come on, Supreme Court! Pave the path. Legalize same-sex marriages. #AbKiBaarPyaar."

2. Bhumi Pednekar
The Badhaai Do actress portrayed a lesbian in the movie and was unapologetic about it. She voiced for same-sex marriages to be legalized in India and even shared some stories of the Supreme Court verdict.Bhumi Pednekar took to her Instagram stories and wrote, “Equality for all because love is love,” followed by the pride flag. We love how inclusivity has been discussed without it being taboo.

3. Onir
Known for directing movies like I Am and My Brother Nikhil, Onir identifies himself as gay. The day the same-sex marriage verdict was announced, the filmmaker took to social media and slammed the center.He said, "Good morning, beautiful people. Today at 1 p.m., the Supreme Court of India starts its deliberation on same-sex marriage. This is an important day for our lives and the struggle for equal rights. Be with us to create a more beautiful, inclusive world."

4. Celina Jaitly
The Apna Sapna Money Money actress also hopped on the bandwagon and reacted to the Supreme Court's verdict. Celina Jaitly has been an LGBTQIA+ community activist for the past two decades and has been constantly fighting for their rights.In a recent interview, she said, "I stand with the Indian #LGBTQ in their battle for the right to life and dignity, to the institution of marriage and family, which is available to others. Today, a five-judge Constitution Bench hears pleas seeking legal recognition for same-sex marriage."

5. Vivek Agnihotri
The Kashmir Files filmmaker is often known to express his opinions rather assertively. Be it on his views on Bollywood or current affairs, Vivek Agnihotri prefers being crude over diplomatic.As soon as the verdict was announced, Vivek took to social media and wrote, "No. Same-sex marriage is not an ‘urban elitist’ concept. It’s a human need. Maybe some sarkari elites drafted it who have never traveled in small towns and villages. Or Mumbai locals. First, same-sex marriage is not a concept. It’s a need. It’s right. And in a progressive, liberal, and inclusive civilization like Bharat, same-sex marriage should be normal, not a crime."
