Art forum Calcutta Cacophony and concert promoters Jamsteady have joined hands to bring back one of Kolkata`s best loved music and arts festival The Soul Local 2022. To be held at the Gitanjali Stadium, Kolkata on 24-25 December, The Soul Local 2022 promises to be one of the biggest Christmas carnivals in the city. From specially curated food, clothing and arts stalls from around the city to unique events like a cosplay competition to go with the amazing music on offer, The Soul Local Kolkata will have something for everyone. Here we look at the acts performing on both days of the music event 

Indian Ocean

The stalwarts of Indian indie rock bands, Indian Ocean doesnt need an introduction. The band has been in existence for over 3 decades and still doesnt seize to be relevant. Having performed all across the country and multiple tours abroad, Indian Ocean is sure to draw a lot of crowd at The Soul Local 2022.

Fossils

The band synonymous with Bangla rock for over 2 decades, Fossils have a fanbase that only few bands can dream of. Fronted by the inimitable Rupam Islam the band currently comprises of Deep Ghosh, Allan Temjen Ao, Tanmoy Das, Prasenjit `Pom` Chakraborty.

Underground Authority

Underground Authority is an alternative rock and rap rock band from India. Formed in early 2010, in Kolkata, their music is flavoured by a blend of protest poetry, reggae, alternative rock, rap rock and hard rock. The band comprises of MTV Hustle fame EPR Iyer, Soumyadeep "Bubbla" Bhattacharya, Adil Rashid and Sourish Kumar. 

Anjan Dutt 

Anjan Dutt is an Indian film director, actor, and singer-songwriter known for his work in the Bengali alternative music genre anyodharar gaan. He has been a pillar for modern Bengali music incorporating western elements and relatable Bengali lyrics into simple, hummable tunes. 

Arko Mukhaerjee

Arko Mukherjee, popularly known by his artist name, Arko Mukhaerjee, is an Indian classical singer and an urban folk musician from Calcutta, India. He sings folk songs in various languages including Bengali and Nepali. The singer can sing in more than 20 languages and plays five different instruments.
