Cricketer Suryakumar Yadav`s wife supports Dhanashree after her recent interview
Dhanashree Verma was all over the internet after her podcast with Humans of Bombay went viral. She spoke at length about her side of the story on what went wrong between her and her former husband, cricketer Yuzvendra Chahal. For the uninitiated, the two tied the knot in 2020 and parted ways in 2025.
After Chahal spoke about his divorce story on Raj Shamani`s podcast, Dhanashree got candid about the same on the Humans of Bombay podcast. She even reacted to the viral "be your own sugar daddy" t-shirt controversy.
Now, amid all the war of words, the choreographer received support from cricketer Suryakumar Yadav`s wife. She praised her for being brave and honest.
Devisha Shetty extends support to Dhanashree Verma
The two cricketer wives were often seen hanging out together and supporting their respective partners during Indian cricket matches. Devisha took to her Instagram stories and shared a snippet from the podcast, writing, “So much respect and love for you.”
Devisha`s story made its way to Reddit, and many users gathered to discuss it, with some finding Yuzvendra Chahal guilty.

One user wrote, “Good that Sky’s wife is standing up for her; clearly she knows more than we do.” Another commented, “Idk who was wrong, but after the divorce, Yuzi was being so immature (that t-shirt thing and going on a podcast and telling just bad things to Dename), but Dhanshree handled it well. At least respect the relationship both had.”
A third comment read, “It’s clear that Chahal did something wrong.” The comment further highlighted Chahal`s silence during Dhanashree`s alleged link-up with cricketer Shreyas Iyer and continued, “Mature men would take a stand for their wife, but he did nothing.”
What Dhanashree Verma said on her divorce
The choreographer shared her side of the story and said how she was taken by surprise by Chahal`s "be your own sugar daddy" t-shirt move.
She said, “I think he walked off first, and that whole thing happened. The t-shirt, media, and all of that. I was not aware of that because I was still inside. I got out of the back door because you don’t want cameras all over your face. I was still crying. It’s not a small event in life, but people are going to blame you only.”
She had anticipated in advance how she would be held responsible for their divorce.
Verma continued, “We all were aware that people were going to hate me for this because of the baggage. I am sitting in the car and trying to breathe a sigh of relief that it’s over. You want to look forward to your life ahead. Until I looked up at my phone, and I went like… What? Is this even true? Is this what he did? Has this happened? And in that one second, you have billions of thoughts. That moment I was like…’Boss, it’s over!’ It’s done, dusted. Why should I cry? In fact, somewhere I did feel bad trying to gauge why I cried…for this? That was the motivation that I needed to just laugh.”
For the uninitiated, Dhanashree Verma and Yuzvendra Chahal got divorced in 2025 after being married for four years.
