Back in 2012, Saif Ali Khan entered into a major controversy after he assaulted a businessman inside the Taj Hotel in Mumbai. The trial for the same is likely to begin on June 15. After eleven years, the
Adipurush actor will be presented at the courts. Along with him, Shakeel Ladak (Amrita Arora's husband) and Bilal Amrohi were also among the accused.
For the unversed, the three accused were arrested and released on bail after they assaulted a businessman named Iqbal Mir Sharma in the Wasabi restaurant of the Taj Hotels, Mumbai. The incident took place on February 22, 2012. The court issued the summons in 2013 against the witnesses who had recorded
Saif Ai Khan and his friends hitting the businessman.
At the time of the incident, the actor was accompanied by
Kareena Kapoor Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Amrita Arora, and a few other male friends. As per a PTI report, the business accused Saif and his friends of hitting his father-in-law.
The report read,
"When Sharma protested the raucous chatter of the actor and his friends, Saif Ali Khan allegedly threatened them and subsequently punched him in the nose, fracturing it. The NRI businessman had also accused Saif and his friends of hitting his father-in-law Raman Patel."In response to the same, Saif Ali Khan alleged that Sharma made
offensive comments and used abusive language against the women who accompanied him. This led to a chaotic ruckus. The police filed the chargesheet on December 21, 2012.
