Kareena Kapoor Khan is ready to set the big-screen on fire with her upcoming movie ‘Daayra’ also starring the superstar Prithviraj Sukumaran. Like every other role she plays, we are sure, this one will also take us by the storm.
Bebo and Prithviraj Sukumaran will be seen as cops who face off while navigating the dark and complex world of juvenile crime. As per the makers of `Daayra`, the film is “inspired by true events.” Daayra unfolds in the “aftermath of a crime that grips the nation sparking widespread outrage, while setting a series of events and 2 investigations in motion.” A press note before the release of the movie trailer said, “As the search for answers deepens, two senior police officers, played by Kareena Kapoor Khan and Prithviraj Sukumaran, find themselves navigating the same system through different approaches to duty and justice, on opposing sides of a case that challenges the very idea of right and wrong. The two-minute-19-seconds-long clip offers a glimpse into Kareena’s Ajooni and Prithviraj’s Raman, two characters navigating a sea of grey, when a girl is kidnapped, raped and murdered. When the alleged kidnapper is ‘encountered’ after attacking the police, Raman believes justice has been served. Ajooni, however, struggles to accept the circumstances — especially since the accused was a juvenile and therefore protected under juvenile law.
Daayra is directed by Meghna Gulzar. The movie marks Kareena’s 68th film in her 25-year career. It is also her first time starring alongside Prithviraj. According to the National Award-winning director, Daayra will present a narrative designed to prompt viewers to examine social structures and the systems that shape them.

For the unversed, Kareena Kapoor`s upcoming thriller `Daayra` is releasing on the same day as brother-in-law Kunal Kemmu`s comedy `VIBE`. At Daayra`s trailer launch on Monday, the actor opened up about this box-office clash. Kareena said, “Kunal is an outstanding actor, one of the best we have in our industry. No one does his comic timing like Kunal. And I think there is space in cinemas for two great films. They`re both wonderful films, and I know that the film is going to do well. Both are going to do well, it`s going to be fun, I know that VIBE is a great film, very fun and good comedy, and people will see a different side of Kunal.” She ended by saying, “Gold mere ghar pe hi aayega to I am happy. Dono picture chalengi to. So why not? I`m very, very sure that both films are going to do very well".
