over his wife's lipstick remark. During a live fan interaction, Ranbir Kapoor was asked about his reaction to being called toxic. He had a rather mature and sensitive take on handling the criticism.

It all started when Alia Bhatt shared her makeup routine in an exclusive Vogue video on the fashion giant's Instagram handle. In the same vein, she shared how Ranbir dislikes her wearing lipstick because he prefers her natural lip color.

But I feel negativity is very important, especially if you are an artist, and if you have some work out there, I think both need to exist because then that creates a balance."
He further added, "You know, sometimes a lot of things are written about you as an actor a lot of opinions are made that are not necessarily true, and if you take it with a pinch of salt, because this image of mine that has been created by the movies, the characters I play, or by media is something that I don't own."
Ranbir Kapoor further explained how he has made peace with what the audience thinks about him as a person. As long as fans and moviegoers like his work, that's all that matters to him.
"It's owned by the public it's owned by people who like or dislike my work, and they are allowed to say anything about me as long as they give my work a chance, you know, as long as I can prove to them as an actor, and that has always been my focusmdashto act," he concluded.
Ranbir Kapoor finds positivity in negative comments
Though he must be away from social media, the news of people calling him toxic still caught Ranbir's attention. He spoke about how there were several
news pieces written about him that labeled him a lot more.
"Recently, I was reading an article about being toxic and something relating to a statement I made, and I understand this. And I am on the side of the people who are fighting for toxic masculinity if they use me as the face of it, it's fine because their fight is bigger than just me feeling sad about them having an opinion about what I said. I look at a larger picture," said the Brahmastra actor.

Heart of Stone, Alia Bhatt shared her makeup routine, which involved her weird way of applying lipstick.
In the same segment, she opened up about how Ranbir Kapoor preferred her natural lip color over any lipstick texture. She said, "Because one thing, my husband... when he wasn't my husband but when he was my boyfriend as well, he would be like, 'wipe that off, wipe that off' because he loves the natural color of my lips."
