With Bollywood and Tollywood coming together more often than not, the lines between the two languages are blurring. Speaking of cross-industry collaboration, another exciting and fresh pair that fans are looking forward to is Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi. The two superstars are coming together for Nitesh Tiwari's Ramayana. Now, the reports suggest they will commence shooting for the mythology drama in March.

The Nitesh Tiwari-directed Ramayana will provide a comprehensive narrative of the Indian Hindu mythology saga. Ranbir Kapoor will play Lord Ram, while Sai Pallavi will be seen as Mata Sita. Adding fuel to the fire is the south superstar, Yash, who will be playing the menacing Ravana.

As per the new report by Pinkvilla, Ramayana is likely to go on floors somewhere in February or March 2024. KGF fame Yash will be joining the team in July, once he wraps up for his next action movie, Toxic.

"The entire world of Ramayana has been created by Nitesh Tiwari, and the National Award-Winning Filmmaker is all set to take the film on floors in March next year. The world of Ramayana has been designed by Oscar-winning VFX company DNEG, which is also producing this epic," said the source.

Yash's role in the Ramayana

KGF's Yash, who became a national sensation with his high-octane action drama, will be seen as the evil Ravana who kidnaps Mata Sita to take revenge against Lord Ram.

In June, it was reported that the actor denied playing the antagonist in the film. He said he wanted to be more mindful of what his fans expected from him. However, Yash is a crucial part of the Ramayana and will start shooting in July.

Revealing more about Yash's response to the film, the source said, "Yash has an extended appearance in Ramayana: Part One, which is more of a story building of Ram and Sita with a character introduction of Hanuman. The second part will chronicle the arc of Raavan's character, and the actor is excited to enter this auspicious world of Nitesh Tiwari."

"Yash was bowled over by the visuals and the purity with which Nitesh intends to retell the Ramayana to the audience today... There is some tech rehearsal expected to take place in LA in January 2024, and RK will be off to the US for a couple of weeks. It's essentially for pre-viz," the source concluded.

Reports also suggest Nitesh Tiwari is talking to Sunny Deol on behalf of Lord Hanuman. Ramayana: Part One of the trilogy will release in the second half of 2025.
