The next year is all set to start with a bang, thanks to some promising movies releasing in the first month of 2024. One of the much-anticipated movies, Merry Christmas, starring Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi, has become the talk of the town. The trailer for Merry Christmas is out, and it is not as merry as you think.

The upcoming action thriller is the polar opposite of its title. Merry Christmas brings in a new pair, with Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi in the lead. On Wednesday, the makers of the film dropped the movie's trailer in all languages.

After teasing fans with retro-cool posters and intriguing headlines, the makers of the upcoming thriller-drama finally unveiled the trailer for Merry Christmas. It gives off a seductive and puply vibe, which warms us up for yet another twisted murder mystery.

Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi are the pair we didn't know we needed. Their unspoken chemistry has sparks flying as the two strangers meet on Christmas Eve and decide to explore the city.



While they spend the night together, the two get closer. However, it's not all cheesy romance that you're in for. There are several hints dropped before the big, suspenseful twist.

As Katrina asks Sethupathi to choose between one of her two fingers, she reveals a postcard featuring a young Rajesh Khanna with 'The night is darkest before the dawn' written on it.

The trailer ends with a voice saying, "Sometimes violence is better than sacrifice." The unexpected end will leave you painfully curious and wanting for more.

The cast of Merry Christmas

The Sriram Raghavan directorial has Katrina Kaif and Vijay Sethupathi headlining the film. Apart from the duo, it also features a gleeful Sanjay Kapoor and a flabergasted Vinay Pathak.

While Raghavan's personal favorites Radhika Apte and Ashwini Kalsekar are visible on the thumbnail, they do not make it to the final cut.

For the uninitiated, Sriram Ragahavn is the same director who helmed movies like Andhadhun, Badlapur, Johnny Gaddar, and more. There is very little doubt about his potential to pull off a cutting-edge thriller with twists that will leave your jaw dropping.

Merry Christmas is all set to release on January 12 in cinemas near you.
