The new episode of Koffee With Karan 8 is up, and Ajay Devgn and Rohit Shetty have given many candid insights into the nitty-gritty of the film industry. Rohit Shetty opened up about how the younger generation of actors are more uncertain about the kinds of roles they choose. Similarly, Ajay Devgn was his most lively self as he turned to his trademark humor to answer Karan Johar's tricky questions.

Ajay Devgn Opens Up on Nepotism on KWK 8

Along with the many things that came up in discussion, the burning topic of nepotism comes up every now and then. Ajay Devgn, Rohit Shetty, and Karan Johar have all had their fathers working in the film industry before they took command in different roles. The three of them reflected on how their fathers worked tirelessly to reach where they did.

Speaking about it, Ajay Devgn said, "Today you go on social media and read so many things like nepotism, etc., but people don't realize that the generations have worked very, very hard to reach here. It's not an easy story."

He also added how difficult it is to make a place in the industry based on how unreliable the work system is. He said, "30-40 saal nikal jate hain. Chahe aap industry ke ho ya na ho, struggle to sabke liye barabar hai, hard work to karna hi padta hai (30-40 years pass by in this struggle). You belong to the industry or not the struggle is similar for everyone you have to work hard."

Further, he added, "We are still working hard. Both my ankles are broken people don't see that hard work. When Rohit came as an assistant, he literally didn't have the proper money to have food."

Ajay Devgn is the son of Veeru Devgn, who was a stunt director in films. Even Rohit Shetty's father worked as a stunt director in films in the 1970s, along with Rohit's mother. However, his father died when Rohit was just 8-9 years old, bringing the entire onus on his mother. Eventually, he started earning money at the age of 18.
