In a significant move to bolster its global tourism appeal, the picturesque island nation of the Maldives has named Bollywood superstar Katrina Kaif as its new global brand ambassador. The announcement came from the Maldives` marketing and public relations department, which aims to leverage the actor`s immense popularity to attract more visitors to its sun-kissed beaches.
Ibrahim Shiuree, CEO and Managing Director of Visit Maldives, expressed his excitement about the partnership. “Her vibrant personality and strong connection with audiences worldwide make her a perfect representative for the Sunny Side of Life,” he said.
Reacting to her new role, Katrina Kaif said she was "honoured" to be the Global Brand Ambassador for the Sunny Side of Life. In a statement, she shared her deep appreciation for the island nation. “The Maldives represents the pinnacle of luxury and natural beauty—a place where elegance meets tranquillity,” she remarked.
The actress added that the collaboration aims to offer “the finest travel experiences” to visitors from around the world. She hopes the campaign will inspire global travellers to “discover the unique charm and world-class offerings” that the Maldives provides.
