Days after his passing away, fans and the film industry remember Dharmendra on his birth anniversary. The legendary actor passed away on November 24 at 89, just days before his 90th birthday.
While everyone is still coming to terms with the huge loss, Hema Malini pens an emotional note on his birth anniversary as she remembers the early days of their love life and daughters, Esha and Ahana.
Hema Malini`s emotional tribute to Dharmendra
Bollywood`s Dream Girl took to social media and shared some unseen pictures with the late actor. The two could be seen candidly posing for the camera.

Her caption read, “Dharam ji, happy birthday, my dear heart. More than two weeks have passed since you left me heartbroken, slowly gathering up the pieces and trying to reconstruct my life, knowing that you will always be with me in spirit. The joyful memories of our life together can never be erased, and just reliving those moments brings me great solace and happiness.”

“I thank God for our lovely years together, for our two beautiful girls, who reaffirm our love for each other, and for all the beautiful, happy memories that will remain with me in my heart," she added.
"On your birthday, my prayers for God grant you the wealth of peace and happiness that you richly deserve for your humility, goodness of heart, and your love for humanity. Happy birthday, dear love. Our happy ‘together’ moments,” Hema Malini concluded.
Hema Malini and Dharmendra`s love story
Hema Malini and Dharmendra were not just a beloved Bollywood pair on-screen — they were a timeless love story off it. The duo ruled the 1970s with hit films like Sharafat, Tum Haseen Main Jawan, Naya Zamana, Seeta Aur Geeta, Raja Jani and the cult classic Sholay.
Their chemistry sparked widespread rumours of a real-life romance, even as Hema’s mother disapproved due to Dharmendra’s existing marriage to Prakash Kaur.
After a seven-year courtship filled with speculation and headlines, Hema Malini and Dharmendra tied the knot in 1980. Their union blessed them with two daughters — Esha Deol and Ahana Deol — cementing their place as one of Hindi cinema’s most iconic couples.
Their journey together continued until November 24 of this year, when Dharmendra passed away at the age of 89. The legendary actor had battled health issues and was admitted to the hospital two weeks before his demise.
He breathed his last at the family’s Juhu residence and was cremated at Pawan Hans Crematorium in a solemn ceremony attended by close relatives.
Bollywood mourned deeply — Amitabh Bachchan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Govinda and many others paid tribute to the “He-Man” of cinema, remembering his legacy and the unforgettable love story he shared with Hema Malini.
