Sidhu Moose Wala
More than two years after the shocking daylight murder of Punjabi music icon Sidhu Moosewala, the main accused, Goldy Brar, has broken his silence. In an explosive interview with the BBC, the Canada-based gangster offered a chilling justification for the assassination that left the nation stunned and the music world mourning. His cold confession sheds new light on the dark underbelly of rivalry and revenge that led to the tragic event.
Brar, a close aide of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and a designated terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), remains one of India`s most wanted criminals, with an Interpol Red Corner Notice issued against him.

Tensions temporarily cooled after the intervention of Vicky Middukhera, an associate of the Bishnoi gang. However, Middukhera`s own murder in August 2021 proved to be the final straw. The Bishnoi gang held Moosewala responsible for allegedly protecting those involved, a claim Moosewala always denied and which Punjab police could not substantiate.
Brar accused Moosewala of using his political influence and resources to shield their enemies. "We wanted him to face punishment for what he`d done... But nobody listened to our plea," he said, expressing a profound distrust in the legal system. This led them to take matters into their own hands.
"So we took it upon ourselves. When decency falls on deaf ears, it`s the gunshot that gets heard," Brar chillingly remarked. Dismissing the Indian justice system, he added, "Law. Justice. There`s no such thing... I did what I had to do for my brother. I have no remorse whatsoever." His words paint a grim picture of a parallel world where vengeance dictates justice.
A Chilling Confession
Speaking from an undisclosed location, Satinderjit Singh, alias Goldy Brar, admitted to orchestrating the murder, claiming it was a necessary act of retribution. "In his arrogance, he [Moose Wala] made some mistakes that could not be forgiven," Brar stated matter-of-factly. "We had no option but to kill him. He had to face the consequences of his actions. It was either him or us. As simple as that."Brar, a close aide of jailed gangster Lawrence Bishnoi and a designated terrorist under the Unlawful Activities (Prevention) Act (UAPA), remains one of India`s most wanted criminals, with an Interpol Red Corner Notice issued against him.

The Alleged Feud
The feud, according to Brar, ignited over a seemingly minor issue: a kabaddi tournament. He claimed Moosewala was promoting a village associated with their rivals, the Bambiha gang. "That`s a village our rivals come from. He was promoting our rivals. That`s when Lawrence and others were upset with him. They threatened Sidhu and said they wouldn`t spare him," Brar explained.Tensions temporarily cooled after the intervention of Vicky Middukhera, an associate of the Bishnoi gang.
