Diljit Dosanjh and Anees Bazmee
The much-anticipated sequel, `No Entry 2`, has been a hot topic, especially regarding its casting. Recent buzz suggested actor-singer Diljit Dosanjh had stepped away from the project. Director Anees Bazmee has now addressed these reports, echoing producer Boney Kapoor`s earlier clarification and maintaining a positive stance on the film`s progress.
Despite the casting hurdle, Bazmee remains upbeat. In a recent interview, he expressed his primary focus: seeing the comedy come to life. “I’m just happy that the film is getting made. There’s no bigger joy than that,” he remarked. Bazmee, a seasoned director, views casting changes as part of the filmmaking journey. “It’s not like I’ve always worked with my first choices. I’ve had to work with my second and even third choices. But the audience always ended up loving them.”
Bazmee isn`t one to get drawn into public explanations. “Since it’s a big film, everything that happens makes news. I’m used to these things, and I don’t let them bother me. Main kabhi safaiyaan nahi deta. Jo hona hai, woh hi hoga aur jo hoga, achcha hi hoga,” he stated philosophically. He recalled a brief final meeting with Dosanjh concerning scheduling: “Our last meeting lasted just 10 minutes. He was trying to sort out his dates. Boney ji was there too. But I understood his situation,” acknowledging the mutual respect despite the logistical challenges.
Bazmee holds no ill will and had warm words for Dosanjh. “He’s a very honest human being and a very talented actor,” he praised. He fondly remembered their initial script narration: “He didn’t even need to hear the full story. He just said, ‘Comedy hai, teen heroes hai, No Entry dekh ke hum kitne hasse hai,’ and agreed immediately.”

Producer Boney Kapoor has confirmed that the original trio will not be part of the sequel. "That chapter is over (of the old star cast)," he had told PTI last year, when Diljit was still considered part of the new lineup alongside Varun Dhawan and Arjun Kapoor. "Varun and Arjun are best of friends, and Diljit is fantastic at comedy. So, I think this makes for a good and interesting combination," Kapoor had said. The team is also currently in the process of casting 10 female actors for the ambitious sequel. With the casting situation seemingly resolved, Anees Bazmee is eager to take ‘No Entry 2’ to the floors soon.

Scheduling Snags, Not Creative Clashes
Contrary to speculation about creative differences, producer Boney Kapoor previously confirmed that Diljit Dosanjh`s potential departure was due to date issues. "Yes, there are date issues, but certainly no creative differences. That is absolutely false. We are trying our best to work the dates out," Kapoor had stated. Now, director Anees Bazmee has also shed light on the situation. "We were discussing his dates because there was a bit of back and forth. He told me that he was trying to work out his dates. Boney ji was also there," Bazmee shared.Despite the casting hurdle, Bazmee remains upbeat.
